Emby - Free vs Paid App¶

Free Emby Devices | The following devices won't count towards the server limit:

Web Browser
Roku
Apple TV
Smart TV (LG & Samsung)

Paid Emby Devices | These devices are covered by the server license. However, if any of these devices reach the server device limit, you will receive a pop-up prompting you to pay for the device unlock:

Emby Theater on Windows, Linux, and macOS (There is no option to pay)
Mobile (iOS & Android)
Android TV (Sony) or Fire TV
Game Consoles (There is no option to pay)
